Chung Hua High School (CHHS) (“we,” “our,” or “the School”) operates the CHHS App (the “App”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.

- Device Data: We may collect information about the device you use to access the App, including the hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (for Push Notification delivery via Firebase).
2. Use of Data
The School uses the collected data for various purposes:
- To notify parents when students arrive at or leave the school premises.
- To send official school announcements and emergency alerts.
- To maintain and improve the App’s functionality.
- To provide student-specific administrative support.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on our private, secured servers. We implement industry-standard security measures (including SSL encryption and database access controls) to protect your information. As this app serves the school community, data is kept only for as long as the student is enrolled at CHHS, or as required by Malaysian educational record-keeping regulations.
4. Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our App:
- Google Firebase: Used specifically for sending real-time Push Notifications to your mobile device.
- Infrastructure: Our internal school API and database management systems.
5. Disclosure of Data
The School does not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. Data is only shared internally for educational and safety purposes or if required by law (e.g., a request from the Ministry of Education).
6. Children’s Privacy
Our App specifically relates to students (children). We collect student data only through authorized school registration and with explicit parental consent during the school enrollment process.
7. Your Data Rights
Under the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010, parents have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about them/their children.
- Request corrections to inaccurate data.
