2026年1月23日，芙蓉中华中学英文组面向全体英语教师，举办由“希望之种”（Seed of Hope）主讲的可持续发展目标（SDGs）分享会，主讲者为飞机工程师Lim Ken、专业经理人Vincent Chuan、 UNIMAS的博士研究生Yat Yu Dong等。
分享会鼓励教师将SDGs价值融入英语课堂及社团活动，并通过关怀弱势群体（如B40群体）的行动，让学生在真实情境中培养同理心、社会责任感及英语沟通能力。
会议亦聚焦环境可持续发展，讨论海滩清洁、简易可持续项目及再生能源相关活动，并结合英语表达与反思练习，提升学生的综合能力。
此外，英文组亦计划推动植树活动及基础手语学习，进一步强化包容意识与公民素养。
本次分享会为英语教学结合可持续发展目标提供了实用方向，鼓励教师通过行动导向的学习方式，培养学生的语言能力与全球公民意识。

The English Language Department was pleased to host a sharing session by ‘Seed of Hope’ on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for all English Language teachers on 23 January 2026, from 8.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m.
The session featured Mr. Lim Ken, an airplane engineer; Mr. Vincent Chuan, a manager; Mr. Yat Yu Dong, a PhD student from UNIMAS; and Ms. Ng Siew Hoon, an administrative staff member from SGM.
The session encouraged teachers to reflect on how SDG values can be effectively integrated into English Language Department and English Language Society activities.
Following the sharing, CHHS teahcers Mdm. Tatchayini and Mdm. Syuhada proposed initiatives to involve students in supporting the underprivileged, particularly the B40 community, through food aid distribution and stationery donations to students in rural areas.
Students will be encouraged to create projects such as mini dynamos to promote awareness of renewable energy, accompanied by English presentations to enhance communication skills.
In addition, CHHS Tecaher Mr. Jonathon plans to collaborate with the town council on tree-planting initiatives, allowing students to document and reflect on their experiences through writing and presentations in English.
The Seed of Hope sharing session provided valuable insights and practical ideas for integrating SDG values into English language learning. It is hoped that this initiative will inspire all English Language teachers to implement meaningful, action-based activities that support both language development and global citizenship.
